Oil on board painting of a house in a forest in Voirons, France. Painted in the workshop of Lucien Mainssieux (French, 1885 - 1958). Marked on reverse “Atelier de Mainssieux, Voirons”. This painting is extremely well-executed, with the image assembled out of very broad and loose brushstrokes. Close up, the image does not make much sense, until one steps back and sees the image come together. A very good painting. Condition is good, though the painting is bowed in the center. 23 ¼” wide by 19 ¼” tall (board), 27 ¾” wide by about 23 ½” tall (frame).
