Japanese woodblock (ukiyo-e) print by the great master Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797 - 1858). Entitled "Hamamatsu: Winter Scene" ("Hamamatsu, fuyugare no zu"), this print is from Hiroshige's series "Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido" ("Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi") or "Hoeido Tokaido". Ca. 1833 - 1834. This print appears to be from the original run or a very early recut. It has all of the features of most originals, with the exception of the black stamp on the left margin, which is either not present or has rubbed off. Blled through on reverse, printed on handmade paper, and with two pin holes at the upper margin. Foxing and wear on the paper itself, darkening of paper and fading of colors. Hinged on matte board. 15" wide by 10" tall. Matte: 18 1/16" wide by 13 15/16" tall. Keywords: house, home, collector, collectible, collection, Ando, art, artwork, ukiyoe, ukiyo e, print.
