Small Japanese woodblock (ukiyo-e) print by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760 - 1849). Print of two courtesans from the series "Lives of the Courtesans at Itako", ca. 1802. This print is two leaves, which have been connected to cloth backing with paper on interior. Condition: wear and aging on print, and two black ink stamps that are not part of the original composition. Mild water damage on corner of backing. Paper backing has broken, many pieces fell off / removed, and have been collected. Inscribed in Japanese. Print measurements: 8 1/4" wide by 6' tall.
