Watercolor landscape painting by noted American Tonalist artist William Merritt Post (NY / CT, 1856 - 1935). Signed in lower right hand corner "W. Merritt Post". Watercolor and gouache on paper. Landscape of trees and scrubs with fall foliage along a stream. Painting looks to be in quite good condition. Framed behind glass in vintage frame, with wear on frame. Acid burn on paper backing of matting, but not on painting. Opening: 12" tall by 16" wide. Frame: 24 1/2" tall by 28 1/2" wide by 2" deep.
