"Jewish Wedding" by noted American Jewish painter Tully Filmus (1903 - 1998). Ca. mid 20th century. Oil on canvas painting. This painting depicts a portion of an Eastern European Jewish wedding ceremony. The women of a village, wearing colorful dresses, dance around the bride, who stands veiled at the center. This painting differs from many of Filmus's Jewish scenes, in that he uses brighter colors in the dresses of the women then he normally used in such scenes. Signed in lower right hand corner. This painting is in excellent condition. The painting is accompanied by the 1966 book "Tully Filmus", which is personally inscribed by Filmus. The book has some wear, dust cover has tears. Painting measurements: 20 1/4" tall by 26" wide. Frame: 28 1/2" tall by 34 1/2" wide by about 2" deep. a. ADDRESS: NEA is not responsible for incorrect shipping addresses. Buyers must verify the shipping address listed on their invoice prior to shipment. Standard items packed internally by NEA will ship approximately one to fourteen business days after payment.
b. INSURANCE: All lots in transit require insurance at a rate of 1% on the total invoice.
c. OVERSIZE/SPECIAL: Certain auction items exceed standard shipping fees and may require over-sized and heavy shipping surcharges. Every effort is made to note these charges prior to catalog publication, but may be included on a shipping invoice post auction without notice.
d. INTERNATIONAL: NEA welcomes international buyers. NEA does offer limited in-house shipping for international buyers. Please contact us prior to the auction for quotes and more information. It shall be the potential buyer’s sole responsibility to research and satisfy the requirements of any laws and regulations that apply to the import and export of property and for paying all shipping costs, customs and duties on the items. NEA will not, declare lesser values for any international purchases and all shipments will include the invoice with purchase totals including the buyer’s premium and shipping cost.
