Mid to late 19th century music box. Serial # 18827. Includes original instruction manual. Tested, plays. Crank is damaged but still winds the device. All combs appear intact. Brake does not engage immediately but slowly brings the machine to a halt. Two instances of staining are present on the illustration under the lid. Some general age related wear but overall in remarkable condition. Music box measures approximately 21 1/4" wide, 10 1/2" high and 19 1/4" deep. Also included is a cabinet with 60 music discs that are housed in the below table compartment. The handle on the door is loose and the locking mechanism does not appear to be working. There is a pull out shelf at right (one of the two knobs is loose). There are cracks in the trim along the base where the music box sits and wood splitting in various spots. Wear is especially evident at the bottom of the four legs. Cabinet measures approximately 24" wide, 34 1/4" high and 23" deep. Finishes on music box and cabinet appear original. Some damage to the finish on the cabinet door as though some sort of adhered label was not so carefully removed. Not eligible for in-house shipping. Keywords: antique, antiquarian, vintage, music, furniture, storage, media
