Large format book entitled "India and Its Native Princes" by Louis Rousselet. Describes Rousselet's travels in India, with descriptions of famous monuments and sites, local practices, and the local peoples. 1876 edition, revised and edited by Lieut.-Col. Buckle. Printed by Scribner, Armstrong, and Company of New York. Includes 317 illustrations and 6 maps. 579 pages, gilt edges. Binding features an elephant head and peacock feathers tooled in gold on a green hardcover. Cover marked "A. Souze a Paris". Condition: good, with wear at binding corners and edges. Foxing on opening pages, but these disappear within the book. 13 5/8" tall by 11" wide by 2 3/8" thick.
