Full size (4/4) violin, produced by Franz Eibl. German / Austrian, 1896. Body: 14" long. Neck: 10" long. Total length: 24" long. Handwritten label inside body, reads "Franz Eibl, geigenmacher / fecit anno 1896" (Franz Eibl, violin maker / Made in the year 1896). Appears to have spruce top and tiger / curly maple body, neck, and pegbox (flamed on neck?). No bridge and no soundpost. Fingerboard and tailpiece appear to be ebony. Purfling. Violin has wear, some finish loss on body and neck. Three strings. Includes two unsigned bows. One bow is complete, strung with some broken strands. Other has no strings and has broken tip. Expected wear. Bows are 28 3/4" to 29" long. Includes case.
