Three prints (from a series of four) by Connecticut native Amos Doolittle (1754 - 1832) based on the parable recounted in The Gospel of Luke. Included here are "The Prodigal Son Receiving His Patrimony", "The Prodigal Son in Misery" and "The Prodigal Son Returned to His Father" (the former two dated October 24, 1814) and the latter December 1, 1814). Works appear cut down, but unmounted asave for the tabs. Each measures approximately 10 3/4" x 14 1/2" high (based on the first in the series being extracted from its frame for inspection). white accents may be a later addition. Wove paper appears fragile to the touch and is tabbed to mat board by strips of adhesive tape. Hogarth frames measure approximately 15 3/4" x 19 3/4" x 3/4" and are ready to hang. c.    OVERSIZE/SPECIAL: Certain auction items exceed standard shipping fees and may require over-sized and heavy shipping surcharges. Every effort is made to note these charges prior to catalog publication, but may be included on a shipping invoice post auction without notice.
d.    INTERNATIONAL: NEA welcomes international buyers. NEA does offer limited in-house shipping for international buyers. Please contact us prior to the auction for quotes and more information. It shall be the potential buyer's sole responsibility to research and satisfy the requirements of any laws and regulations that apply to the import and export of property and for paying all shipping costs, customs and duties on the items. NEA will not, declare lesser values for any international purchases and all shipments will include the invoice with purchase totals including the buyer's premium and shipping cost.
