2 Marine Paintings: Bailey and Hillman

Included here are two works by "T. Bailey" and T. Hillman. The first, a harbor scene by "Bailey." Not a single artist, but a pseudonym used collectively by many selling tourists art in the Cape Ann area of Massachusetts throughout the early to mid 20th century. Oil on canvas. Artwork is in fair condition, with some scratches evident on the canvas. Its chief detriment is storage impressions along the edges of the canvas' wood construction. Not inspected out of frame. Artwork measures 19 1/2" wide and 15 1/2" high by sight. Wooden frame exhibits sizable dings and nicks. Frame measures 24 1/4" wide, 20 1/4" high and 1 3/4" deep. Next, Boats at Lowtide. Believed the work of T. Hillman (or Hillmann). Signed and dated 1907 on work. Oil on canvas. Artwork measures 17 1/2" wide and 11 1/2" high by sight and is in fair condition. There are two sizable storage impressions in the upper right corner of the painting where pigment was transferred from being pressed against another work. Decorative wooden frame measures approximately 22" wide, 16" high and 2 1/2" deep and exhibits dings, scuffs and scratches throughout. a.    ADDRESS: NEA is not responsible for incorrect shipping addresses. Buyers must verify the shipping address listed on their invoice prior to shipment. Standard items packed internally by NEA will ship approximately one to fourteen business days after payment.
b.    INSURANCE: All lots in transit require insurance at a rate of 1% on the total invoice.
c.    OVERSIZE/SPECIAL: Certain auction items exceed standard shipping fees and may require over-sized and heavy shipping surcharges. Every effort is made to note these charges prior to catalog publication, but may be included on a shipping invoice post auction without notice.
d.    INTERNATIONAL: NEA welcomes international buyers. NEA does offer limited in-house shipping for international buyers. Please contact us prior to the auction for quotes and more information. It shall be the potential buyer's sole responsibility to research and satisfy the requirements of any laws and regulations that apply to the import and export of property and for paying all shipping costs, customs and duties on the items. NEA will not, declare lesser values for any international purchases and all shipments will include the invoice with purchase totals including the buyer's premium and shipping cost.
