Vintage F.W. Luebeck zither. Produced by F.W. Luebeck of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. American, ca. late 19th - early 20th century. Concert zither, with 5 melody strings, 12 accompaniment strings, 12 bass strings, and 7 contrabass strings (total 36 strings). Wood soundbox with natural material and mother of pearl inlay. Condition: Good overall, one tuning peg for a melody string is not present, and the tuning post is bent. Still seems playable but this tuning peg sound be replaced. Very minor wear from use. Includes case with extra strings and tuning key. Case has wear, some of the mechanical portions should be fixed. Also includes one book on how to play the zither, and sheet music in German for the song "Ich hab' dich, und du hast mich" (Igelhoff and Steimel). Zither is 22" long by 13 1/2" wide by 2 1/8" tall.
