Vintage Chinese liuqin (Chinese mandolin), ca. mid 20th century(?). The instrument has hand painted decoration of a phoenix and a dragon on the front, and a frontal view of a dragon on the reverse. Lacquer over wood with overpainted details. Condition: playable condition. Strings are not attached to their proper tuning pegs, but instrument does hold tune and play. Minor wear / chipping of paint / lacquer. About 25" tall by 9 1/2" wide.
