An ornate Sterling silver commemorative standing 5 3/4" tall salt. Features a cartouche on one side that reads "The Salters Company 500th Anniversary 1394 April 13 1894" Includes a matching spoon with the Salters coat of arms as depicted on the vessel. This piece was featured in the Fall 2016 newsletter of the Open Salt Collector. 13.6ozt gross weight, XRF tested. Estimated 150-170 were produced. Good patina, no signs of repairs or damage. Hallmarked for London 1893 with the silversmiths mark for John Bodman Carrington of Carrington & Co, Regent St, London. Keywords: loving cup, trophy, Victorian, Antique
