A pair of Orientalist cast metal busts of women. European (likely Austrian), ca. late 19th - first quarter 20th century. Painted cast metal (mainly zinc with copper). Each woman is wearing Middle Eastern (Turkish or Persian) clothing, including long, flowing hats and vests, including arabesques, vegetal motifs, and paisley (boteh). Each also has pierced ears, but no earrings. Condition: good overall, patina and wear on portions, some paint has worn away. Wear on one sculpture's nose. Oxidation has left some pock marks on the faces of the women. Otherwise, these are very attractive and engaging sculptures. 12 1/2" tall by 6 1/2" to 7 1/4" wide.
