Collection of 12 pieces in varying sizes and materials. One piece in red with gold embroidered origami paper cranes measuring 16" x 14". One piece depicting cranes in flight against a rising sun. Red backing with gold flower embroidery. Measures 25 1/2" x 27" and exhibits staining at the top of the work. Presumed missing two tassels. One piece in dark green depicting a crane in flight above a sea turtle. Measures 24 1/2" x 26 1/2". Presumed missing two tassels. One piece depicting 21 cranes in flight against a rising sun on dark brown. Sakai Mon oxalis clan crest embroidered on reverse. The crest itself exhibits many loose threads in the stitching. Measures 25" x 27 1/2". Presumed missing one tassel. One piece depicting 2 cranes over a zen garden against gold. Takanoha Mon hawk feather clan crest embroidered on reverse. Piece exhibits staining and degradation of material, especially along fold lines. Measures 25 1/2" x 28 1/4". Presumed missing one tassel. One piece in grey depicting 2 cranes flying over crashing waves before a rising sun. Some staining evident on reverse with Shimazu (?) clan crest. Presumed missing one tassel. Measures 19 1/2" x 22 1/2". One piece depicting a scroll and ornamentation against beige. The Ikeda clan crest is embroidered on the reverse against brown. Measures 24" x 27 1/2". Presumed missing three tassels. One piece depicting a Shinto marriage with a cart overflowing with flowers and cranes in flight. Staining evident throughout this side of the work. Floral embroidery on reverse against deep orange. Measures 24" x 26". One tassel reattached using a plastic fastener. One piece depicting a ship transporting goods against a beige background. Solid red backing. Measurs 11" x 11 1/2". Presumed missing two tassels. One antique kimono (early to mid-20th century) with floral embroidery sold by Hayashi Kimono (Tokyo). Two irregular sized extracts from a larger work. One depicting an archer riding through a pass lit by lanterns. The other depicting a notable and their retinue sheltering among rocks. Also included are seven tassels that correspond to some of the works so repair with original materials is possible and original paper wrapping from the store where several of the items were purchased. From the carefully curated collection of a Pan Am flight attendant, in service between the years of 1954 and 1984. 8.    SHIPPING: Shipping and transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer. NEA ships most items in-house. Once your auction invoice is paid, you will be contacted by our shipping department. We use the Shipping Saint Platform to manage the shipping process from start to finish. Shipping is billed separately from auction invoices. Shipping is calculated as follows: Cost of Materials, Labor for packing, cost of shipping label, and required 1% Insurance. Many Items we offer at auction are difficult and time consuming to pack properly. It is the buyers responsibility to obtain quotes prior to the auction, and have items picked up withing 14 days of the auction date. a.    ADDRESS: NEA is not responsible for incorrect shipping addresses. Buyers must verify the shipping address listed on their invoice prior to shipment. Standard items packed internally by NEA will ship approximately one to fourteen business days after payment.
b.    INSURANCE: All lots in transit require insurance at a rate of 1% on the total invoice.
c.    OVERSIZE/SPECIAL: Certain auction items exceed standard shipping fees and may require over-sized and heavy shipping surcharges. Every effort is made to note these charges prior to catalog publication, but may be included on a shipping invoice post auction without notice.
d.    INTERNATIONAL: NEA welcomes international buyers. NEA does offer limited in-house shipping for international buyers. Please contact us prior to the auction for quotes and more information. It shall be the potential buyer's sole responsibility to research and satisfy the requirements of any laws and regulations that apply to the import and export of property and for paying all shipping costs, customs and duties on the items. NEA will not, declare lesser values for any international purchases and all shipments will include the invoice with purchase totals including the buyer's premium and shipping cost.
