Miniature portrait in an unmarked 14 karat yellow gold frame. Painted by American miniaturist J. Staples Rowe (1856 - 1905). Portrait is signed "J. Staples Rowe '01". American, ca. 1901. Initialed on back "HUB". Portrait is incredibly detailed and expertly painted. Total weight of frame without glass and portrait is 38 grams / 24.5 dwt. Frame is 4 1/8" long by 2 3/4" wide.
