Hand painted and gilt porcelain flower vase with decoration of fish, flowers, a bird, and even a few small turtles. Most notable are multiple flying fish. Likely American, ca. late 19th - early 20th century. Possibly inspired by Japanese porcelain works like Satsuma. Piece is unsigned, and has metal fittings on base and along rim. Condition: good overall, minor wear on gilding, residual dirt, and patina on metal fittings. 11 1/4" tall by 6 1/2" wide (shoulder).
