A very unusual salt. A 19 century French or Bohemian apple green opaline glass compote or master salt on a silver base. The stand has chased silver decorations with profiles of two stags and inset turquoise stones. The flora form glass has scalloped polished edges and eight cut sections on the underside which create the look of flower petals inside the bowl. The opaline glows under a black light from the addition of uranium. Unmarked, XRF Tested Sterling, hollow. There is a piece of felt on the underside of the stand. 3 3/4" X 3 1/2". All of the turquoise stones are present, the glass is free of chips, cracks and repairs. However, not sure if this is intentional or a result of use, there is a slight lean or dip in the angle of the glass on the pedestal.
