Bronze sculpture by renowned American artist of the Wild West, Frederic Remington (1861 - 1909). Entitled "Wooly Chaps", it is a version of Remington's most famous sculpture, "The Bronco Buster". Ca. 1895, cast probably mid 20th century. Sculpture depicts a cowboy wearing the eponymous wooly chaps on a bucking bronco, which rears up with the lasso dragging below. The rider grasps the horse's mane with one hand and holds a short whip with the other. Signed on bronze portion of base. On green marble base with plaque. Good condition. About 23" tall by 19" wide.
