Four piece group of wood carved and painted splash boards ("lagim") created by the Massim people of New Guinea. Each piece exhibits fading of the applied pigments, with chips and fairly extensive cracks throughout (especially where the boards were detached from their original moorings). Largest shipping item measures approximately 25" high, 29" wide and 1 3/4" deep; smallest shipping item measures 11" high, 23" wide and 1 1/2" deep.
