Believed to have originated in Japan, this piece measures approximately 11 1/2" high, 5 1/2" wide and 5" deep. In generally fine shape except for some stress fractures present around the Buddha's stomach and the cloth sack slung over his shoulder. His left ear exhibits a deep carve into it while the right exhibits evidence of being filled with some sort of soft material, making the artist's original intent difficult to gauge.
