Signed oil on canvas painting by C.T. Mitchell (late 19th - early 20th century). Little is known of Mitchell, except that his paintings show scenes of Meriden, Connecticut. Mitchell may have even been a pseudonym for noted Handel Lamp artist Frederick Matzow. This painting shows a Meriden scene, likely of Hubbard Park, with white birch trees and a small waterfall. The painting is luminous, with gentle light coming through the trees at top center, above the waterfall. Framed. Painting is in good condition, expected aging. 28" by 14" (canvas), 30 5/8" by 16 5/8" by 1 3/8" (frame).
