Signed oil on canvas painting of a Barbizon school landscape. French, late 19th century. Signed in lower right “C. Alex”. Reverse has a label reading “Bords du Furon / Roussillon”. Painting depicts a dark forest interior with light shining through the leaves in the evening. A well-executed piece. Good condition, some aging and craquelure. Measurements: about 21 ¾” by 15 1/4” tall (canvas), 30” wide by 23” tall (frame).
