Cast iron animated bank, featuring an eagle feeding eaglets. American, ca. late 19th century. Base marked "Pat. Jan. 23 1883". Likely produced by J. & E. Stevens. Bank operates by a lever, which, lowers the eagle's beak, raises the eaglets, and opens their beaks as well. Appears to function correctly. Very good to excellent original condition. Patina as expected, may need slight tune up. 5 3/4" tall by 8 1/4" wide.
