Antique pocket watch with an Art Nouveau face. Early 20th century, ca. 1907. With a Swiss C.H. Meylan Brassus movement. 18 karat yellow gold case. A photographic portrait of a woman in Edwardian wedding attire is found on the interior of the case, and has been printed onto the gold of the case itself. Blue enamel Arabic numerals in an Art Nouveau font and initials GEK on reverse of case. Movement made for Henry Kohn & Sons of Hartford, CT. Case made by Jeannot & Shiebler of New York, NY. This is certainly a one of a kind and bespoke item, possibly belonging to George Eugene Kohn (1878 - 1952), one of the eponymous sons in Henry Kohn & Sons. That would make the woman George's wife, Minnie B. Corbin Kohn (1883 - 1955), and her Edwardian wedding attire would match their marriage date of 1907. Winds, sets, and runs. Recently serviced. Total gross weight: 95.9 grams / 61.6 dwt. Good condition, minor expected wear. Keywords: time, timepiece, watch, pocketwatch, watches, American, America, Connecticut, Conn, fancy
