Oil on canvas painting after George Morland's "Inside of a Stable" (Exhibited 1791, now Tate Britain). George Morland (British, 1763 - 1804) was one of Great Britain's most well-known painters of rural life. This painting is a copy, likely mid to late 19th century, after Morland's masterpiece. As-Is condition, needs professional cleaning. Was in a house fire, but not directly burned. Painting is dark, though Morland's original is as well. Framed in gilt wood frame with name plate. Painting measures 23 1/4" wide by 18" tall (opening), 24 1/4" wide by 18 3/4" tall (canvas), 32" wide by 26 7/8" tall by 2 3/4" deep (frame).
