Group of five vintage traditional Japanese dolls (ningyo). Japanese, ca. mid 20th century. Each doll has a realistic face, covered with of gofun and inset glass eyes, with very detailed clothing and accessories. All seem to be wearing travelling garb, three have hats and one has a katana (samurai sword). Three men and two women. Condition: good overall, with expected wear, some tearing / loss of pieces of cloth. Possible breaks, but all figures appear complete. One figure has gofun loss on top of head. All about 8 1/2" tall, approximately.
