Description Amended; See Below: Classic Gibson L-1 archtop acoustic parlor guitar. Produced by Gibson Mandolin Guitar Company, early 20th century. Seems to be the 1912 model. Inlaid decoration around round sound hole and mother of pearl inlay throughout neck, including "The Gibson" inlaid in headstock. Natural material tuning pegs and nut. Wood saddle is separate from tortoise celluloid bridge. Condition: Good overall. Minor wear throughout, tuning keys may have been replaced / moved. One tuner has a broken metal piece (portion of the worm drive?). Steel strings. Should be tuned up and professionally set up. A great piece of music history, and the guitar preferred by renowned blues guitarist Robert Johnson (American, 1911 - 1938). 37 1/2" long by about 14" wide at widest portion of body, 8" waist.
